What will happen if my child is still not making the progress that you would expect?
If, after your child has been assessed by an external agency and they continue not to make the progress that you would expect, then the school would consider applying for a statutory assessment (this is where your child has a range of physical and academic assessments to see if they would benefit from additional support to enhance the support they already receive within the classroom).
If you and the school decide to go ahead with the statutory assessment process this will usually take around 10 weeks.
